The time has come for the annual end-of-the-year Spend-O-Rama in Congress as the deadline to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government runs out. The national debt jets closer everyday to $19 trillion and Congress this week passed a massive $304 billion transportation package that fiscal hawks say will add to that debt.

A Federal Fumble analogy on the 100 ways the government has dropped the ball, written by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) flags the “fumble,” calls out the “team” and suggests a way to “recover” the ball.

Within the vast expanse of the federal budget there are dozens of inane expenditures that will most definitely have you rolling your eyes. So just where are your hard earned tax dollars going? Here are a few of the nuttiest examples:
