President Donald Trump has had several pro-life victories during his first 100 days in office.

Since taking office, Trump has made key pro-life appointments to high-profile government positions and has supported funneling taxpayer dollars away from abortion clinics.

“We are confident that pro-life progress will continue.”

“President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have been game changers for the pro-life movement,” Marjorie Dannenfelser, Susan B. Anthony List president, said in a statement Tuesday. “Not only have there been several pro-life victories within the first 100 days of their administration, we are confident that pro-life progress will continue. This is a new era.”

Dannenfelser’s organization, a pro-life organization based in Washington, D.C., outlined six pro-life accomplishments since January from the current administration.

“We have a new pro-life Supreme Court justice, and are closer than ever before to stopping taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, and passing protections for babies born after five months, a point by which research shows unborn children feel pain,” Dannenfelser said. “These longtime pro-life goals are now within reach with a pro-life president in the White House.”

The accomplishments of the Trump administration during this time include the appointments of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, and counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway.

Trump also successfully nominated Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court. Gorsuch took his seat on the high court earlier this month.

In pro-life circles, the defunding of abortion provider Planned Parenthood has been a priority agenda item among conservative lawmakers.

Trump has supported legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the health law of the Obama administration. This legislation would redirect taxpayer funding from Planned Parenthood and toward community health clinics instead. Trump also signed a Congressional Review Act resolution to ensure states do not get forced into funding the abortion industry.

Also, “At the start of his presidency, President Donald Trump issued an Executive Memorandum to reinstate the Mexico City Policy, which stops U.S. taxpayer funding of the abortion industry overseas,” according to the Susan B. Anthony List.

In another pro-life victory, Trump cut taxpayer funds to the U.N. Population Fund, “which has a long history of involvement in China’s brutal birth limitation policy,” as the Susan B. Anthony List notes.

Trump will have signed 30 executive orders by his first 100 days.

With one of the four major pro-life promises he made on the campaign trail already completed — nominating a pro-life justice to SCOTUS — Trump’s yet-to-be-fulfilled pledges include signing a law that ends late-term abortions, defunding Planned Parenthood, and protecting taxpayers from paying for abortions.

Susan B. Anthony List’s Dannenfelser chaired Trump’s pro-life coalition during the campaign. “We thank President Trump and his team and look forward to working with them to push through additional victories for the unborn throughout the duration of his presidency,” she said Tuesday.

President Trump will have signed 30 executive orders by his first 100 days, according to the White House — compared to 19 signed by Barack Obama and 11 signed by George W. Bush during each of those presidents’ respective first 100 days in office.

Trump has worked with Congress to enact 28 laws during his time thus far in Washington.
