President Bill Clinton testified before the Office of Independent Council, becoming the first president to appear before a grand jury while in office, primarily as a result of his extramarital affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. After facing the threat of impeachment, Clinton was acquitted — and completed his second term in office.
