The creator of the vast “Star Wars” franchise plans to open a Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles — for $1 billion. The museum’s board of directors announced the decision in a statement Tuesday, as The New York Times and other outlets reported.

Lucas spent years making plans to open a museum for his collection of fine and popular art. Eric Garcetti, Los Angeles mayor, has welcomed the museum’s impending construction in the city.
