Excused Absence for Sasha Obama?

January 11, 2017

President Obama’s younger daughter, Sasha Obama, was not seen during her father’s final speech while in office — most notably during his tribute to his family, as multiple sources have pointed out. So where was she?

Twitter and other social platforms erupted with reactions. Some people joked she had plans for the night (she’s a teenager), some criticized the parenting of the Obamas, and some assumed she was simply preparing for school the next day.

White House officials told CBS News’ Mark Knoller that Sasha Obama had an exam on Wednesday morning, the Huffington Post reported. The 15-year-old is a student at the prestigious Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.
