“Anti-gun” Democrat Jamilah Nasheed was carrying a fully-loaded 9 mm handgun and additional rounds when she was arrested Monday night outside the Ferguson Police Department.

The Missouri senator said she has a permit to carry a concealed weapon but refused to expand any further on the details surrounding her arrest.

Nasheed, labeled “anti-gun” by the NRA-ILA, previously gave her full-throttle support to gun control bills in Missouri, including a gun owner registry “and other non-successful attempts at attacking our 2nd Amendment rights,” according to ETF News.

“Here’s an interesting story that somehow escaped the notice of the liberal media. A Democrat state senator from Missouri who’s anti-gun was recently arrested carrying one,” American Outlook wrote.

Police reportedly prompted St. Ann jail to give Nasheed a breathalyzer test when she was arrested because she “smelled strongly of intoxicants.” Nasheed refused to take the breathalyzer test and claims she was not intoxicated at the time of her arrest.

Nasheed was charged with Failure to Obey Lawful Order of Police and Manner of Walking in the Roadway. She was released from prison Tuesday morning, dodging questions from reporters on her way out.
