The internet has been breaking over the last 24 hours as sexy photos of women have popped up on the web showing support for the GOP presumptive nominee for president. Facebook took up the cause on Monday.

#TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet seemed to start showing up after The Wall Street Journal released its latest poll showing Hillary Clinton had a 17-point lead over Donald Trump among women.

This is a play on the Kim Kardashian #BreakTheInternet trend of yesteryear.

Clinton hadn’t been scoring well with women. A poll earlier this month showed millennial females were still preferring Bernie Sanders over Hillary, by a big margin — 61 percent for Bernie to Hillary’s 30 percent. While 80 percent of Americans say the United States is ready to elect a female president, they weren’t feeling any overwhelming urgency to have one.

Trump has called out Hillary for “playing the woman card” and called hubby Bill the “biggest abuser of women.”

Of course, Trump has battled his own not-so-great poll numbers among women; his unfavorables hit a high due to some incendiary comments made on the campaign trail.

An April Gallup poll showed 70 percent of women viewed Trump unfavorably, compared to just 23 percent that viewed him favorably. His approval rating with women had been climbing a bit. But then that Sunday poll hit.

Enter the Trump Babe movement.

Many of the young women sported Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hats.

Some focused on their backsides; some used the slogan Trump Rump.

Many also posted shots of themselves in bikinis. Others covered up. Some held guns.

Some posed with their pets.

And in true web fashion, some people mocked the movement, suggesting girls with trumpets were behind the candidate.
