Country music singer Trace Adkins has released a new single that honors the American military.

Titled “Still a Soldier,” the tune follows a veteran who is living the American Dream.

“He’s still a soldier. His blood runs red, white, and blue. He put away his gun and boots. But he still believes. The American Dream,” Adkins sings.

Other lyrics include, “He’ll stand up when he hears the anthem and that won’t ever change.”

The song will be included on Adkins’ upcoming album, “Something’s Going On,” premiering March 31. The celebratory song is certainly more positive than what some other musicians are putting forth.

Rapper Snoop Dogg just released an outrageous music video that is earning him controversy. The video finds Dogg “shooting” a parody clown version of President Donald Trump.

The video for the song “Lavender” shows a clown-faced “Ronald Klump” holding a press conference and announcing he will be deporting all dogs. Dogg ambushes the parody version of Trump, puts a gun on him, pulls the trigger and out pops a flag from the weapon reading, “BANG.” He then restrains the clown-figure in chains.

“I feel like it’s a lot of people making cool records, having fun, partying, but nobody’s dealing with the real issue with this f*ing clown as president, and the sh that we dealing with out here, so I wanted to take time out to push pause on a party record and make one of these records for the time being,” said Dogg of his song and video, according to Billboard.

The two songs show a stark contrast in their visions of the state of the country. It comes as little surprise, however, that Adkins’ song hits a positive and celebratory note to make its patriotic thank you to military veterans — while Dogg’s song resorts to cheap and incendiary stunts to get attention.
