Roseanne Barr has been one of Donald Trump’s most vocal celebrity supporters.

Rob Reiner, on the other hand, has been one of the president’s harshest critics and a promoter of Russian election-hacking conspiracies. He’s even involved in a group, Committee to Investigate Russia, that is looking to “expose” Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

These two celebs couldn’t be more different politically — so when they saw each other in New York City this week, sparks flew.

Barr, who is currently working on reviving her popular ’90s sitcom, took to Twitter on Wednesday and Thursday to inform her 372,000 followers about the spat with the “Misery” director. The exchange is unfortunately indicative of larger cultural issues America is facing right now, including the anti-Trump hysteria sweeping the liberal Left and the growing divide between two political sides.

Barr’s side of this story is one many Trump voters or political conservatives and independents will instantly recognize.

There are unfortunately many like Reiner so caught up in anti-Trump hysteria that they go from getting along with someone — to, within seconds, thinking that person is “brainwashed” or “stupid” based on political opinions.

Then, when confronted with opposition, they get angry — and leave.

Barr ended her story with a tweet that many Americans should be taking to heart.

At a time people are running to one cultural and political extreme or the other and building echo chambers of information for themselves, it’s important to remain logical and culturally in the middle, where you can openly debate and calmly discuss your opinions with others. You can be reminded that we all have things in common. And that someone is not “brainwashed” and “stupid” for disagreeing with a political opinion — especially one based on so little fact and logic.

Rob Reiner has yet to publicly comment on his run-in with Barr.
