Many Americans’ attention may be on national anthem protests right now and the ensuing fan backlash — but many celebrities are using their platforms and means for good at a time of crisis.

Puerto Rico has been devastated by the recent Hurricane Maria and needs serious help in its recovery efforts. Some celebrities have stepped forward to offer their hand in this time of need.

Some, like Jennifer Lopez, have donated massive amounts of money.

Here’s a look at additional celebrities who are going out of their way to make a positive change — for an area that desperately needs it right now.

Pitbull. The 36-year-old rapper (pictured above left) who refers to himself as “Mr. Worldwide” has offered his private jet to help transport cancer patients in need of treatment to the U.S. mainland.

Pitbull (real name: Armando Christian Perez) stepped up when he heard nearly all of Puerto Rico was without power and some of the ill in hospitals might suffer some serious consequences. The singer was humble when praised. “Thank God we’re blessed to help. Just doing my part,” he said through a statement to The New York Daily News.

Puerto Rico Congresswoman Jennifer González reached out on Twitter to thank Pitbull for his actions in Spanish.

Mark Cuban. The “Shark Tank” co-host shares credit in his humble gesture to help the people of Puerto Rico.

The Dallas Mavericks owner loaned the basketball team’s plane to player J.J. Barea so he could deliver food, water and supplies to Puerto Rico.

“I was really proud of J.J. and how quickly he got involved and how hard he worked to make all of this happen,” Cuban told ESPN about Barea and his loaning out the plane. Barea missed the first day of training camp to deliver supplies.

Marc Anthony. Giving a million dollars to hurricane relief efforts was not enough for Jennifer Lopez. The actress and her ex-husband Marc Anthony created the Somos Una Voz (We Are One Voice) initiative to raise funds to help the people of Puerto Rico.

Celebrities who have donated to the group include Vin Diesel, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran. Its fundraising page had a total of over $130,000 after one day.

Ricky Martin. The singer jumped on Instagram in the wake of Hurricane Maria to reveal he had not heard from his brother, who was on the island.

Martin created a relief fund at You Caring, which has raised over $900,000. According to the most recent reports and posts from Martin, he has yet to hear from his brother. To donate to his relief fund, go here.
