Leah Remini has been incredibly open and honest about her experiences with the Church of Scientology since leaving the “religion” in 2013.

Through her reality series on A&E (currently airing its second season), “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” the actress has spoken to victims of some of the church’s more abhorrent alleged behavior, as well as highlighted her own negative experience with the faith organization, created by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard in 1954.

Remini has talked more recently about adjusting to life since leaving the church, as well as her impressions of Scientology’s most famous member: Tom Cruise.

“There is a public persona of the guy who looks at you directly in the eye and shakes your hand and hugs you and is an attentive person to you, and there’s the person behind the mask who is a completely different person,” she said in a Reddit discussion about Cruise.

She continued, “Someone could say we all have that — what we are to the public and who we are behind the scenes — but the people who are around Tom and work for Tom, not even people who are Scientologists, they will say he is diabolical.”

Her latest revelation came from an interview with People magazine about the church’s attempts to get her to convert her “King of Queens” co-star Kevin James, a Catholic. “They always tried to get me to, [asking], ‘Why is he not in? Why have you not promoted it to him?'” she said. “I was like, ‘Because he’s Catholic. He doesn’t want anything to do with it.'”

Remini and James starred together for nine years on “King of Queens” and were reunited when Remini guest-starred on James’ new sitcom, “Kevin Can Wait.” After the two were back together on screen, Remini was made a series regular in the upcoming second season of the show.

Remini said the church surprisingly gave up on its mission to convert James after the actress refused time and time again to try recruiting him. “They let it go after a while, but usually you’d be expected to recruit, especially with somebody you work with for nine years,” she said.

Despite controversy surrounding actions within the Church of Scientology — much of it stemming from revelations out of Remini’s show — the religion contains a great many celebrity members, such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Remini revealed previously that some of those celebs refuse to speak to her now, including actress Elisabeth Moss.

Moss reportedly left the room when Remini took the stage at this year’s Television Critics Association Awards.

“Elisabeth Moss believes that she can’t talk to me,” Remini told The Hollywood Reporter about the event. “There’s a thing in Scientology called ‘acceptable truth.’ It means you only say what’s acceptable to the public. But she believes that I’m an anti-social personality — because I’ve spoken out against Scientology. So she isn’t allowed to talk to me. And me, knowing that — I wouldn’t put her in the awkward position.”
