Joy Villa has flouted the stereotypes that much of the media have tried pushing about creative conservatives and Donald Trump voters. She’s an artistic and unique voice in today’s culture who always has a positive message, despite whatever criticism she has received since her head-turning debut of a Make America Great Again dress on the red carpet at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

“I’m a believer in free speech and not censoring ourselves just because we think it will offend someone,” Villa, 26, told LifeZette in an interview after her Grammy appearance sent shock waves through Hollywood and the media. “This world thrives because of these freedoms, and the moment you tell one group to be quiet, you’re stopping that freedom. I oppose bullying from one side to the other. Attacking anyone based on their political beliefs or views is just ugly. As long as we choose to fight instead of listen, we will remain divided instead of moving forward together.”

Villa, based in Los Angeles, has continued to show her support for the president and has been open about her politics through social media. To say this is something that takes guts for an artist to do today is a vast understatement. As reports here have shown, Hollywood is blatantly biased against individuals who don’t toe the line.

Villa’s individuality and ability to stand out from the typical Hollywood crowd are qualities that bleed into her music. LifeZette had the opportunity to exclusively premiere Villa’s latest music video of her song, “Vagabonds Remix (DJ Gabriel Remix).”

The song is from her “Static Remixes” album, and is a remix of her song “Vagabonds” from the album “I Make the Static,” which saw a huge sales bump after Villa came out as a Trump supporter. The video was shot at Singapore’s Hotel Vagabond.

There is little doubt Joy Villa is everything an artist is supposed to be: She stands her ground even when she likely would be better served moving with the crowd. And she stays unique to herself and her own voice, in both her opinions of the world and her music.
