A lot of people take issue with Donald Trump’s use of Twitter as president of the United States. However, Mark Hamill is taking things to the next level by supporting a campaign to purchase the site for the sole purpose of booting Trump off it.

The “Star Wars” actor tweeted his support for a GoFundMe cause that seeks to raise $1 billion to become a majority shareholder for Twitter. Once that’s accomplished, it seeks to follow the community guidelines as a reason for kicking Trump off the platform.

Hamill, who will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker later this year, tweeted to let fans know he’s donated to the campaign. Additionally, after a fan complained about the concept, he wrote a brief response explaining that the gesture is more symbolic than practical.

“If we hit this goal, we’ll use it to become Twitter’s single biggest shareholder and leverage that position to enforce its rules against violent threats, intimidation and hate speech — and shut down Trump for good,” Valerie Wilson, the operator of the GoFundMe page writes.

“If we don’t hit that target but raise a lot of money along the way, we’ll explore options to put forward a strong proposal at the next annual shareholder meeting, use this demonstration of public support to pressure Twitter to take action, and donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Global Zero, a nonprofit organization leading the resistance to nuclear war. No matter what, I won’t keep a penny of these funds or benefit financially in any way.”

As of this writing, the GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $83,000, which is a lot — but well short of the $1 billion it needs to accomplish its core goal.
