It was only a week ago that “Patriots Day” star Mark Wahlberg said in an interview with Task and Purpose that “a lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble” and they shouldn’t be talking politics because “they’re pretty out of touch.”

KISS frontman Gene Simmons seems to agree. In an interview with Fox Business, Simmons said, “I think celebrities should basically shut their pie holes and do what they do best — act, sing, tap dance, juggle balls, and all that kind of stuff.”

“The Founding Fathers in their wisdom did many things right, including creating the Electoral College.”

He said it was absurd that celebrities are such a big part of political discussions. “In simple terms … everybody should just take a big, deep breath and why anybody … would, in the fifth estate, would care what a celebrity thinks or otherwise is the height of foolishness.”

He added, “I mean, America’s finally come to the edges of the brink of insanity, where some people might even consider it a good idea for people living in Malibu to decide our foreign policy. I’m not one of those.”

Simmons’ words for celebrity involvement in politics may have been harsh. But considering that Hillary Clinton’s over-reliance on celebs in swing states may have hurt her in the final weeks of the election, it may be beneficial for some of the stars to listen to the man.

Simmons also reacted to those who protested the election results and an inevitable President Trump by calling them “uninformed.”

He said, “The Founding Fathers in their wisdom actually did many things right, including creating the Electoral College.”

The singer said activists would be better off if they “go out there and force [their] legislatures to pass laws” — instead of merely protesting.

Simmons has been an outspoken conservative in the past. He endorsed Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election and has been a vocal supporter of Israel for years. Despite voting for Barack Obama in 2008, Simmons said he regretted the decision — and he has been a critic of the administration’s health care reform.

Earlier in the year, Simmons praised Donald Trump. In an interview with People magazine, he said, “I think people are sick and tired of politicians who have words that are written by other people. And they are trying to cater and make everybody happy … He [Trump] doesn’t care.”

During the Fox Business interview, Simmons put his thoughts on Trump far more simply: “President-Elect Trump is [going to be] the president. You can like it, you cannot like it. He’s the new president. That’s the end of the story.”
