Debate watch parties were held around the country Monday night — at bars, country clubs, churches, hotels, college campuses, in homes and online — as millions tuned in to see Donald Trump face off with Hillary Clinton at Hofstra University on Long Island.

And along with everyone else, stars were voicing their opinions.

Lester Holt was a trending topic.

Before the main event even started, Jon Voight was expressing support for his candidate. “Donald Trump is an extraordinary fellow and has accomplished much in his life,” he told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto a few hours before the debate. “I have the greatest admiration for him.”

Mark Cuban, who did some Trump trash-talking before the debate, was in the audience — but the lively conversation was happening on social media.

While there were plenty of liberal, predictable Hollywood tweets, there were also a lot of funny, irreverent, and bipartisan observations, including one by Trump himself before the debate got started:

Hillary’s red pantsuit was noticed:

And Cuban’s arrival caused a big stir:

Beyond that, Trump’s sniffles were a trending topic — so much so that his nose issues had their own Twitter handle:
