Audiences saw Bobbi Kristina Brown grow up thanks to reality television, watching her deeply dysfunctional family in the process.

We even witnessed her grieve when her mother, singer Whitney Houston, died in a bathtub drowning in 2012.

Now, the 22-year-old Brown has sadly followed in her mother’s footsteps. The daughter of Houston and singer Bobby Brown died Sunday after depressingly similar conditions. The young woman was found in a bathtub, unresponsive, on Jan. 31. She was revived but never regained consciousness, and spent time in both a hospital and, later, hospice care until her death over the weekend.

Bobbi Christina is the most recent in a long line of young people who were born into celebrity privilege, only to lose it all. Consider the sad list that no entertainer parent wants his or her son or daughter make:

  • Cameron Douglas, son of actor Michael Douglas, has had a number of run-ins with the law related to drugs and is currently serving time on drug dealing charges.
  • Weston Coppola Cage, son of actor Nicolas Cage, was arrested twice in 2011 on domestic violence charges and admitted to drinking 30 beers a day during his darkest hours. Earlier this year, he became a father for the first time, and said his son’s arrival helped him quit alcohol for good.
  • Charlie Sheen has managed to wriggle out of one jam after another, always finding new work along the way. The son of actor Martin Sheen has publicly battled with his ex-wives and admitted to repeated drug use.
  • Christian Brando, the son of Marlon Brando, served six years in prison after he was convicted of voluntary manslaughter. He was arrested on spousal abuse charges and dealt with addiction issues during his tumultuous life. He died in 2008 at the age of 49 following a bout with pneumonia.
  • Michael Blosil, 18, first entered rehab at 12 and later committed suicide by jumping off his L.A. apartment building in 2010. He was the son of entertainer Marie Osmond.
  • Mackenzie Phillips wrote in her 2009 memoir “High on Arrival” that she had a 10-year sexual affair with her father, John Phillips of The Mama & the Papas fame, which began with rape when she was still a teen. She also has dealt with serious addiction issues.
  • Peaches Geldof, whose father Bob Geldof is best known for creating the Live Aid concert event, died of a drug overdose last year at the age of 25. Her mother, Paula Yates, also died from a drug overdose.
