After President Donald Trump took to Twitter to criticize NFL players who choose to kneel during the national anthem, celebrities almost universally opposed that viewpoint — and took to social media to show support for the protesting athletes.

Many, like the cast members of “The X Files” and “Star Trek Discovery,” posted pictures online of themselves kneeling as a sign of disagreement against Trump’s words.

It is worth noting, however, that not all celebrities are using their platforms to bash the president or support national anthem protests. Many long-standing conservatives have voiced their support for the president’s words about honoring and respect our country and all who have fought for it — and their disdain for those who don’t stand for the national anthem.

James Woods has been one of the most vocal critics of the National Football League. The actor said he was boycotting the organization back when Colin Kaepernick first started kneeling for “The Star-Spangled Banner” last season.

Singer Joy Villa has also been vocal in recent days; she has said standing for the national anthem is a way to show unity as a country. She revealed she is currently working on a song “about unity and prayer.”

Kaya Jones, who has a rendition of the national anthem for sale — with all proceeds going to veteran charities — posted a video to Periscope that addresses the NFL debate.

“My grandpa is resting in Arlington and we have many friends and family that are no longer here because they fought and died for my freedom and for your freedom and for all of our freedoms,” she said.

She added as a direct message to the NFL: “I’m sorry. I can’t agree with you on this. I’m going to stand with our nation and stand with our POTUS on this.”

Actor Antonio Sabato Jr., who spoke at the last Republican National Convention and is currently running for Congress, also tweeted:

Roseanne Barr, who is working on bringing back her popular ’90s sitcom “Roseanne,” also retweeted images of NFL sponsors to help in boycotts of the league.

Others to speak out in opposition to the views of Hollywood’s excessively loud liberals include actresses Stacey Dash and Kristy Swanson and actors Kevin Sorbo, Nick Searcy and Adam Baldwin, among others.
