After reports emerged of explosions at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, on Monday night, celebrities began pouring out their thoughts, prayers, concern and emotions on social media, in tweet after tweet.

Grande’s reps confirmed the star was “OK,” according to a report from Fox News. The rep added, “We are further investigating what happened.”

The singer’s fellow celebrities shared their thoughts and concerns as the news unfolded.

Celebrities such as James Woods were also helping to spread photos to their followers of concert attendees still missing throughout the night, in an effort to confirm their location.

Then there was this. Meet David Leavitt, who freelances for CBS, AXS, Yahoo!, Examiner, and other outlets and reviews media, fashion and travel, according to his Twitter account. He is also vocally anti-Trump. He even once tweeted, “Trump died sleeping. #CalmMeDownin3Words.”

So it was funny when there might have been a few fatalities — but now that it’s confirmed the body count is rising, it’s not? Making jokes about whatever is trending on Twitter before knowing the full story to get attention is something a child does, not an adult. It brings up the larger issue of trolls on the internet who ignore the fact that they’re talking about human beings when they say things they think might get them more followers or cheap laughs.

Leavitt wasn’t the only troll staring into his screen on Monday night. Other social media users mocked the tragic death of director Zack Snyder’s daughter. Just 20 years old, she was revealed to have died by suicide in March. Snyder and his wife (who is also his producing partner) discussed the tragedy in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to explain why they were exiting November’s “Justice League.” Some thought that was the opportune time to make a joke.

The difference is most of those people have eggs for profile pictures and only a handful of followers. Leavitt has nearly 60,000 followers and is a published contributor to respectable media outlets.
