laura (1)If anyone can bring Homer and Marge back together it’s radio personality and LifeZette editor-in-chief Laura Ingraham.

Yes, the Simpsons’ marriage is on the rocks, and Ingraham provides the voice of a marriage counselor on Sunday’s new episode on FOX.

The animated smash’s 27th season kicks off with Marge and Homer separating after years of bickering. Homer even has a new love interest, a young pharmacist who catches his eye. Marge and Homer still care for each other, of course, which leads them to see Ingraham’s therapist character.

As a single mom, the thought of being a marriage counselor to Marge and Homer was hilarious in its own right!

“I’ve been a Simpsons fan for years, so it was a thrill to be asked to lend my voice to the fun, to try something different. As a single mom, the thought of being a marriage counselor to Marge and Homer was hilarious in its own right!” said Ingraham, the most listened-to woman in America on political talk radio.

“The Simpsons” began as a series of shorts on “The Tracey Ullman Show” in the mid 1980s, but earned its own series in 1989. The show quickly became a sensation, sparking a sea of merchandise, the 2007 feature film “The Simpsons Movie,” and more than a few cultural catchphrases. “Don’t have a cow, man.” “Eat my shorts.” “Ay, caramba.” And, of course, “D’oh!”

This isn’t the first time the Simpsons’ marriage seemed doomed. Show executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly that longtime fans probably won’t see the twist heading their way this weekend.

“The Simpsons” airs at 8 p.m. Eastern Sunday nights on Fox.
