Another celebrity couple has hit the skids.

Proving that Hollywood happy endings are a real-life rarity, actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are divorcing, according to multiple reports that spread like wildfire Tuesday.

“Jealousy, tears and separate lives,” said In Touch magazine in a headline.

Together since 2004, the stars married in August 2014 — saying at the time their six kids played a part in steering them toward tying the knot. In that time, they’ve forged their large family, done humanitarian work, made movies, and weathered Jolie’s health issues — she had her ovaries, fallopian tubes, and both breasts removed as preventive moves against cancer.

Jolie, in court documents, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, said TMZ. Her manager Geyer Kosinski told E! News in a statement, “Angelina is doing what’s best in the interest of taking care of her children.”

Celebrity gossip sites have been in overdrive with buzz about what really broke them up.

TMZ noted that Pitt’s use of “weed and possibly alcohol,” along with his “anger” problems, are what led Jolie to file the papers.

In Touch magazine put the couple on the cover this week with the headline: “$400 Million Divorce” and right below it: “Jealousy, tears and separate lives.”

In July, the National Enquirer said divorce for the couple was “on the horizon,” citing Jolie’s “globe-trotting and endless crusading for the world’s downtrodden as the duo’s biggest problem.”

In May, OK! magazine said the two were having “explosive fights” and that divorce was looming.

In March, Radar Online reported that Pitt was desperately trying to sign model Cara Delavingne for one of his upcoming movies — a move that was not sitting well with his wife.

In January, one report said they had been living apart for the last year. Another said she had anorexia and he was tired of watching her not take care of herself.

In 2010, Dr. Drew Pinsky predicted that at some point we’d see a “nuclear eruption” between the two, because Jolie had used heroin — and he said, “There’s no such thing as ‘I was a heroin addict’ — and Pitt was ‘demeaning.'”

“It’s very sad,” Jolie’s dad, actor Jon Voight, 77, told Inside Edition just after the divorce news broke. “Something very serious must have happened for Angie to make a decision like this.”

Voight added that he “didn’t know” what happened. “It’s a sad thing. Say a little prayer.”

It seems the glamorous relationship frequently had some not-so-glamorous rocky times. Right after the two married, they were said to have been spotted having a loud argument in Austria. And this past Christmas, In Touch reported the two were “having relationship-ending fights.”

“Dedicating their lives to film work, human rights, and their children left them little time for each other,” an unnamed source told In Touch. And when they do manage to get together, they end up “squabbling” or passing the time in “frozen silence.”

In November, Jolie admitted as much while promoting their “By the Sea” movie, telling The Telegraph in an interview, “To be clear: We have fights and problems like any other couple.”

The most recent rumor was that Pitt apparently refused to spend the last days of summer vacation with Jolie and their six kids, opting to go to Croatia with his friends instead.

He recently filmed a movie, “Allied,” with Marion Cotillard and Lizzy Kaplan. Some stories say his onscreen romance with Cotillard began to move off-screen. The movie comes out Nov. 23.

Meanwhile, celebs and fans had a range of reaction to the divorce news. While many were “devastated,” others quickly mentioned how they weren’t — because they had sided with Jennifer Aniston when Pitt split with her years ago. And, of course, Donald Trump came up.

Jolie and Pitt got together while working on the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” when he was still married to Aniston. Soon after the film came out in 2005, he announced his marriage to Aniston was over.

Brangelina married at their Chateau Miraval in France in a nondenominational ceremony. The kids’ drawings were famously featured on Jolie’s Versace wedding dress. Pax made the cake. Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls. Shiloh and Knox were ring-bearers. Maddox and Pax walked Jolie down the aisle.

What will happen to the nomadic, global children?

She’s asking for physical custody of the kids, said TMZ, and is asking the judge to give Pitt visitation. It’s significant that she does not want him to have joint physical custody — only joint legal custody.

This is the second marriage for Pitt, who was previously married to Jennifer Aniston. It was the third marriage for Jolie, who tied the knot with Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.

“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids,” Pitt said in a statement to People magazine. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
