The Joker. Cesar Romero’s Joker was one of fans’ favorite villains. The actor appropriately took a much more lighthearted approach than more recent portrayals by Heath Ledger and Jared Leto. It was a performance that fit well in the series and complimented the work of West and Burt Ward (as Robin) in all the right ways. Joker episodes were always special.
Romero’s Joker was introduced just a few weeks into the run of “Batman” — and breathed a new life into the already energetic series.
