“Saturday Night Live” has been making us laugh for 41 seasons with its one-of-a-kind skits. Why? The show knows funny. Nowadays nobody can make a joke about race or gender without offending everyone and anyone who’s listening. What a shame, right?

Seriously, these past skits are hilarious, but there is no way they’d be aired today without extreme criticism.
