A 2011 email exchange between Clinton Foundation executive Doug Band and Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta leaked by WikiLeaks Thursday points to the scale of Bill Clinton’s significant conflicts of interest while his wife was secretary of state.

Writing to Podesta about to his conflict-of-interest agreement, Band noted that Clinton is not bound to such an agreement. “Wjc does not have to sign such a document even though he is personally paid by 3 cgi sponsors, gets many expensive gifts from them, some that are at home etc,” Band wrote. “I could add 500 different examples of things like this,” he added.

The open admission that there are hundreds of examples of serious conflicts of interest surrounding Bill Clinton’s work at the Clinton Foundation — from one of the Clintons’ top former henchmen and key player in the Clinton Foundation — is stunning, and will no doubt further confirm in the minds of many the fundamental and inherent corruption of that organization.

Bill Clinton’s apparent conflicts of interest are likely the reason for Jennifer Palmieri revealing comments in another email leaked by WikiLeaks on Thursday. In a discussion concerning an impending public interview with the former president, Palmieri warned that Clinton should avoid all questions regarding Clinton Foundation donors and conflicts of interest.

“We recommend not engaging on specific questions related to 1) donors; 2) implementation of the MOU; or 3) HRC’s knowledge of donors to the Foundation. These are rabbit holes,” Palmieri wrote.
