A veteran is claiming to be the victim of a vehicular Islamic terrorist attack.

Scott Alcala, of Fresno, Califiornia, was hit by another car while driving to San Jose. Witnesses say a speeding vehicle swerved into Alcala.

The threat from Islamic terrorist spans far beyond the issue of gun control.

“I saw the suburban coming right at me about to T-bone right into the driver door and I thought that was it. A second later I turned my head and just smashed into the barrier,” Alcala recounted to local news reports.

But what he said next was far more terrifying. Alcala said the driver who hit him told the responding officer that “it was in the name of Allah.” According to local news, the police report says the driver — one Ameer Abbaf Fakhraldin — told officers that the collision was caused in part by Donald Trump’s comments about minorities and Allah.

Despite liberals’ wish to use Islamic terrorism as a pretense for enacting their desired draconian gun control measures, incidents like these prove the threat from Islamic terrorist spans far beyond the issue of gun control.

Islamic terrorists have used a variety of weapons in their attacks on innocent civilians. Islamic terrorist Dahir Adan stabbed people to death with a knife in a Minnesota mall. In Germany in July, an Afghan migrant used an axe to attack passengers on a train.

In May, 2013, off-duty British soldier Lee Rigby was hacked to death with a cleaver by two Islamic terrorists. That same year in April, the Tsarnaev brothers set off two bombs made with pressure cookers at the Boston Marathon.

In September 2016, Ahmad Khan Rahami set off a bomb, also made using a pressure cooker, in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, and a pipe bomb in Seaside Park, New Jersey. And of course, the 9/11 attackers used hijacked airplanes to kill in the name of Allah.

Yet despite the obvious reality that the true threat to Americans’ safety is Islamic terrorists, regardless of the weapons they use, liberals continue to focus instead on guns.

In the wake of the Islamic terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California, President Obama called for “common sense gun safety laws.” He would use the horrific incident as a pretense to enact sweeping executive action on gun control weeks later.

Liberals also seized on the Islamic terrorist attack on a nightclub in Orlando, Florida as an excuse for calling for more gun control.

“Yes, there is a right for law-abiding, responsible Americans to own guns. And yes, there are reasonable common-sense measures to try to keep people safe from guns. We’ve got to figure out the best way to move forward on that,” said Hillary Clinton — who wants to import thousands of Muslim migrants with views on homosexuals similar to Omar Mateen’s — following the Orlando attack.

Obama also used the religiously motivated attack on gays to push his disarmament agenda. The Islamic attack was “a further reminder of how easy it is for someone to get their hands on a weapon that lets them shoot people in a school, or a house of worship, or a movie theater, or a nightclub,” the president said.

Remarkably, even when terrorist attacks that don’t even involve firearms occur, Democrats still try to use them to further impose gun control on the American people. Following the bombings in New Jersey and New York in September, Sen. Harry Reid called for increased gun control.

“Congress can do more to prevent terror. We should close the loophole that allows potential FBI terror suspects to legally purchase weapons,” Reid said on social media the Tuesday after the attack. That same day, he addressed the Senate in support of “No Fly/No Buy” gun control legislation.

“We can argue from now on about whether this bill would have prevented this weekend’s attacks,” said Reid. “But one thing is for sure, it would prevent the next attack,” he said. This is, of course, demonstrably false. The legislation Reid supports does not prevent Muslims from owning pressure cookers, getting drivers licenses, or buying cutlery.

The truth, however, is that the best ways to prevent the next Islamic terror attack are closing off the siphon of Muslim migration and robust monitoring of Islamic communities already in America for signs of radicalization.
