Donald Trump pledged to fight especially hard as president for struggling inner city Americans who have been misused by “stupid” and “corrupt” politicians during a rally Saturday in Tampa, Florida.

With just three days to go until Election Day, the GOP nominee spoke directly to the country’s poorest citizens and communities – particularly inner city African-Americans and Hispanics – who feel that the political elite have forgotten them and taken their support for granted. Emphasizing that he saw their plight and heard their cries for help, Trump promised to put their interests first and wrest control in the inner cities from the Democrats who had failed them.

“You give them their vote, and they disappear for four years … And then they come back again and again. We have to show them it doesn’t work that way any more.”

“You know, the Democrats have been running that whole thing for up to a hundred years unbroken. And they come in, they say, ‘We want your vote. We want your vote,'” Trump told the crowd. “You give them their vote, and they disappear for four years. They say, ‘See ya, folks! See ya in four years!’ And then they come back again and again. We have to show them it doesn’t work that way any more.”

Trump told inner city Americans that he saw how rampant crime and violence have destroyed families and how fleeing jobs have left the poorest citizens with shrinking opportunities under liberal policies.

“We are fighting for every parent who lost their child to drugs and crime and gang violence. We are fighting for every community whose jobs and dreams have been ripped out of our country and shipped to other far away lands. It’s happening all the time,” Trump said. “And we are fighting for every American who believes government should serve the people – not the donors and not the special interests.”

Pointing to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as the representative of special interests and big money, Trump highlighted her corruption stemming from her deep entrenchment within the political establishment.

“Remember, if she ever got into the Oval Office, Hillary and her special interests and her donors would rob this country blind. I have no doubt about it,” Trump said. “At the core of my contract is my plan to bring back your jobs that have been stolen. Stolen by either very stupid politicians or corrupt politicians, meaning special interests get them to do whatever they want to do.”

Trump told the crowd gathered in Tampa that he would have commended the scandal-ridden Clinton for her 30 years of political experience and public service if it hadn’t all been “bad experience” and “the experience of losing.” Her track record of failure, Trump said, has helped to wreak havoc upon the country’s most vulnerable and ill-used people.

“A government that will not protect its people is a government that is unworthy to lead,” Trump said. “When we win this election, you will finally have a government on your side fighting for your community and protecting your family.”

There is too much at stake in this election for the inner city voters to sit it out or cast their votes for the Democrats, Trump said. Promising that a Trump Administration would always put “America first,” the Republican nominee said that now is the time for the change and new leadership the people have been yearning for after decades of stagnation and suffering.

“It is time to cut our ties with the failed politicians – like Hillary – of the past,” Trump said. “Hillary Clinton is the candidate of yesterday. We are the movement of the future.”
