President Donald Trump targeted media bias in a series of tweets Saturday morning, saying that the “good news is that the PEOPLE get it, which is really all that matters!”

The president ripped politicized evening talk shows, news coverage of his administration, and his ongoing battle with Congress to deliver health care reform, among others. In particular, NBC News incurred his ire for its coverage over the past few days.

“.@NBCNews is so knowingly inaccurate with their reporting. The good news is that the PEOPLE get it, which is really all that matters! Not #1,” Trump tweeted Saturday morning.

NBC published an article Wednesday in which it alleged that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had called Trump a “moron” and required Vice President Pence’s persuasion to remain in his post in the Trump administration. At the time, Trump tweeted that NBC’s exclusive story was “Fake News” that was “more dishonest than even CNN” as “a disgrace to good journalism.”

The president also took a swipe at “anti-Trump” evening talk-show hosts for their constant onslaught of negativity and their “one-sided coverage” favoring Democrats and liberals more than Republicans and conservatives.

“Late Night host are dealing with the Democrats for their very ‘unfunny’ & repetitive material, always anti-Trump! Should we get Equal Time?” Trump tweeted. “More and more people are suggesting that Republicans (and me) should be given Equal Time on T.V. when you look at the one-sided coverage?”

Trump may have been alluding to CBS News’ Stephen Colbert and ABC News’ Jimmy Kimmel, both of whom consistently make headlines for their anti-Trump monologues and jokes.

In direct contrast to his usual “fake news” criticism and complaints of media bias, the president took the opportunity to praise The Washington Post on Twitter for its “good story” published on Friday. The story in question reported that the Republican National Committee (RNC) has been receiving increasingly higher numbers of donations from small-donor contributors, contrasting with the traditionally large contributions it receives from big corporations and megadonors.

As The Post reported, more than $40 million of the $68 million raked in by the RNC through the end of August came from smaller donations of $200 or less. And the coverage earned The Post a rare compliment from the president, who has railed against the outlet repeatedly for its “fake news” and “anti-Trump” bias.

“Can’t believe I finally got a good story in the @washingtonpost. It discusses the enthusiasm of “Trump” voters through campaign … contributions. The RNC is taking in far more $’s than the Dems, and much of it by my wonderful small donors. I am working hard for them!” Trump tweeted.

Trump also acknowledged that he reach across party lines to speak with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to discuss the necessity of health care reform. After an embarrassing summer for the GOP with its repeated failures to repeal and replace Obamacare, the president has signaled his willingness to work with Democrats if his own party refuses to step up to the plate and fulfill its 2016 campaign promises.

“I called Chuck Schumer yesterday to see if the Dems want to do a great HealthCare Bill. ObamaCare is badly broken, big premiums. Who knows!” Trump tweeted.

In response to the interest in Trump’s phone call, Schumer issued a statement Saturday describing his version of the conversation and repealing and replacing Obamacare is “off the table,” though tweaks to the current government-run system are not.

“The president wanted to make another run at repeal and replace and I told the president that’s off the table,” Schumer said. “If he wants to work together to improve the existing health care system, we Democrats are open to his suggestions. A good place to start might be the Alexander-Murray negotiations that would stabilize the system and lower costs.”

In addition, the president appeared to anticipate fielding more “fake news” stories about how his administration will handle Hurricane Nate. Mainstream media outlets and liberal pundits frequently criticized the president for how he handled Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria and the resulting destruction in Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Puerto Rico.

“Our great team at @FEMA is prepared for #HurricaneNate. Everyone in LA, MS, AL, and FL please listen to your local authorities & be safe!” Trump added.
