The New Crime Epidemic Wreaking Havoc on U.K.: Rape Gangs

Nearly 20 people were convicted on Wednesday of abusing girls in Newcastle, U.K. — part of an orchestrated rape gang operated by Muslim men.

In total, 17 Muslim men and a native-British female accomplice were convicted of over 100 charges stemming from crimes against 22 victims. Court documents reveal how the gang groomed British teen girls with drugs and alcohol before subjecting them to “sessions” in which they were raped by multiple men.

But the extent of the rape gang and its crimes could be significantly larger. Despite the convictions the investigation is still ongoing, and the 18 individuals convicted Wednesday may be but a fraction of those involved. Investigators have so far made a total of 461 arrests, spoken to over 700 potential complainants, and identified 278 victims the gang preyed upon between 2010 and 2014, according to the BBC.

Perhaps most disturbing is that the Newcastle rape gang is just the latest such gang uncovered in the United Kingdom. The story is always the same: Mainly Muslim men lure underaged native-British girls into their confidence with attention, drugs, and alcohol; abuse them; and then pass them around.

Newcastle is in fact the 13th British city in which such a rape gang has been uncovered. It now joins Aylesbury, Banbury, Bristol, Derby, Halifax, Huddersfield, Keighley, Oxford, Peterborough, Rochdale, Rotherham and Telford as cities known to face similar types of crime.

The “ethnic minority groups who are mostly to blame for these acts target white girls as their actions spring from a supremacist mindset,” Raheem Kassam, editor in chief of Breitbart London and author of “No Go Zones: How Sharia Law Is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You,” told LifeZette.

“They also don’t target their own communities as much because of how closely knit and segregated they are,” said Kassam, an expert on radical Islam in the UK. “They don’t want to accidentally target their friends’ relatives. The religious element, as well as the cultural, stems from both a masculine as well as a theocratic supremacism that many of these people are either taught, or assume.”

But if these mostly Muslim rape gangs are motivated in part by a twisted form of Salafist Islam, they are emboldened by passive, politically correct authorities, who have done little to tackle the problem at its root.

While “the trend regarding this behavior is self-evident,” said Kassam, “what is more concerning is the trend of how authorities all over the country have either ignored or covered this up in the name of multiculturalism or political correctness.”

Still, with the uncovering of yet another horrific rape conspiracy, voices calling for the issue to be addressed honestly are growing louder. Speaking on Thursday, Labour MP for Rotherham Sarah Champion criticized authorities for failing to investigate a possible “cultural issue” behind the gangs.

“We’ve got now hundreds of men, Pakistani men, who have been convicted of this crime — why are we not commissioning research to see what’s going on and how we need to change what’s going on so it never happens again?” Champion said during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s “Today” program.

“If it was people from a particular town that was doing this crime across the country, if it was people from — I don’t know — a motorbike gang doing this, we’d recognize that as an indicator and we’d deal with it. But we’re just not dealing with it,” she said.

Ultimately, Champion also pointed to political correctness. People are “more afraid to be called a racist than they are afraid to be wrong about calling out child abuse,” she said.
