A 39-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for shooting and killing three people while injuring at least one other in Fresno, California, while reportedly shouting “Allahu Akbar” and targeting white people, according to local police.

Kori Ali Muhammad was taken into custody after Fresno Police Department officers tackled him following the three shootings in three separate locations. As he was tackled, police say Muhammad shouted “Allahu Akbar.” Muhammad was already wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a security guard that occurred in Fresno Thursday.

“What we know is that this was a random act of violence.”

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said during a press conference that Muhammad “does not like white people, and he has anti-government sentiments” in some of his Facebook posts, noting that all of the victims were white, according to The Fresno Bee.

Despite the yelling of “Allahu Akbar,” police say it is still too early to determine whether or not radical Islamic terrorism was directly involved in Muhammad’s motives.

Muhammad is currently facing four counts of murder in addition to two counts of attempted murder after Tuesday’s shooting spree. Although no weapon was found on his person at the time of capture, Dyer noted that police found rounds of .357-caliber bullets along with speed loaders for a revolver.

“What we know is that this was a random act of violence,” Dyer told reporters. “There is every reason to believe he acted alone.”

Police said that Muhammad approached a Pacific Gas & Electric truck and fired his gun repeatedly, killing the passenger. The driver made it to the Fresno police station and reported the shooting. Moments later, the gunman shot but missed another person before firing several shots at another person, killing him.

Muhammad then reportedly made his way to a bus stop where he reloaded, shot and killed a man in the parking lot of Catholic Charities, The Fresno Bee reported. Catholic Charities spokeswoman Ashlee Wolf told the paper that “At this point we don’t believe that they [the shooter] were clients or anybody that had an affiliation with Catholic Charities.”

“So right now, we are just working with the Fresno Police Department to get them as much information as they need,” Wolf said, adding that Catholic Charities had closed for the day as a result.
