The fallout over comments made by White House adviser Kellyanne Conway Thursday promoting Ivanka Trump’s brand was brought to a hyperbolic level Friday by the co-hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff,” Conway told Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy when answering questions about Nordstrom dropping the president’s clothing line.

“One of Bill Clinton’s articles of impeachment included abuse of office. People that are going to do that will put this tape right there.”

The White House said Thursday Conway was “counseled” over the ethical slip.

“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough took the incredulous step Friday of suggesting Conway’s mistake could boost the liberal pipe dream of an impeachment of President Donald Trump.

“One of President Bill Clinton’s articles of impeachment by a Republican Congress was for abusing his office,” Scarborough said during a discussion on Conway’s comments, “you hear about high crimes and misdemeanors, one of his articles of impeachment was for abusing his office.”

Scarborough’s contention an ethical flap by a staffer in a television interview could rise to the level of abuse of office worthy of impeachment rivaled hyperbolic assertions made over the incident from even the more outwardly liberal pundits.

“You watch. If there’s an ethics violation that goes to the White House and they ignore it, then people who want to take him out of office eventually will put that right there,” Scarborough continued.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski stuck to mocking Conway.

“Kellyanne Conway needs to stop being a runaway beer truck,” Brzezinski said, “I told her to go get a job.”
