Headlines increasingly dominated by international conflicts and foreign policy have lifted President Donald Trump’s job-approval ratings over 50 percent, according to Rasmussen Reports’ Monday Daily Presidential Tracking Poll.

“This is the first time the president’s overall approval rating has been back in the 50s in nearly a month,” Rasmussen noted in its report. “Just after his inauguration, Trump’s job approval peaked at 59 percent and remained in the 50s every day until early March. It’s gone as low as 42 percent since then.”

In other polls, Trump’s approval rating dipped into the 30s during several rough weeks where coverage was dominated by legislative setbacks and contentious internal strife at the White House.

Trump himself touted the 6 percent rise, from 44 to 50 percent, in the Rasmussen tracking poll, retweeting a link to the survey posted by the influential Drudge Report.

Rasmussen registered the second most accurate pre-Election Day presidential polls, according to analysis from RealClearPolitics.

Trump’s increasing approval ratings come in the days after he ordered an airstrike in Syria in retaliation for a horrific chemical attack that killed more than 80 innocent civilians and the use of the “mother of all bombs,” the nation’s largest non-nuclear ordinance, in Afghanistan. The bomb killed roughly 94 Islamic State fighters and destroyed three tunnels filled with weapons and ammunition used by terrorists.
