Hillary Clinton’s sizable double-digit lead over Donald Trump in the ABC News/Washington Post daily tracking poll plummeted by 10 points and shrunk to a mere 2-point lead during a four-day span in a new survey released Saturday.

Most alarming for the Clinton camp, the poll was conducted entirely before the FBI’s bombshell announcement that it has reopened its investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server. The four-day survey was conducted from Oct. 24-27, the revelation the Clinton email case would be reopened came on Friday Oct. 28, after FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to committee chairmen in Congress amending his testimony that the investigation had ended.

Just four days ago, the Democratic presidential nominee enjoyed a 12-point lead among likely voters at 50 to 38 percent in the ABC News/Washington Post tracking poll. The poll released Saturday shows her lead dwindling to just two points at 47 to 45 percent.

The 1,148 likely voters surveyed in the poll from Oct. 24-27 split down Party lines at 37 percent Democrats, 29 percent Republicans and 29 percent independents. Most of the movement came from independent voters abandoning Clinton. Voters not affiliated with either major party went from favoring Clintons by six percent four days prior to preferring Trump by a 16-point margin.

The poll also found voter intensity had increased, with 81 percent of registered voters saying they will likely vote, compared to just 75 percent surveyed four days earlier.
