Two days into his second trip abroad, President Donald Trump has proven that the United States is back to lead the world, Vice President Mike Pence said Thursday night in an interview on Fox News.

“I think what the world saw [in Warsaw] today is what we see every day in this President, and that is unapologetic American leadership,” Pence said in an interview with LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham on “Hannity.”

“It really is remarkable to think that for the past eight years we had an administration that was more often than not apologizing for America around the world,” he continued. “And today, in Warsaw, Poland, with those eloquent words …. President Trump reaffirmed our commitment to be the leader of the free world.”

“Leaders around the world they are welcoming a President of the United States who’s embracing his role as leader of the free world,” said Pence. “There’s a very real sense that under President Trump, America is back.”

As Ingraham pointed out, America under Trump may be leading once again, but it’s not in the direction favored by the globalist liberal elite.

“It is incredible to me, after seeing how optimistic that speech was, to watch the commentary afterward,” Ingraham said. The “Washington Post calling it dark and provocative — he says we will not be broken — but it’s dark and provocative.”

In that speech, Trump warned of the need to protect traditional Western values, not only from radical Islamic terrorism but also from the dangers of a creeping, totalitarian bureaucracy.

“What I keep hearing from leaders around the world is how grateful they are that America is leading again on the world stage,” said Pence.

“Leaders around the world welcome a president of the United States who’s committed to that role,” even if there are ideological disagreements, he stressed.

“What you’re seeing here is a president who’s saying we want to engage the world, but we want to engage the world by putting the interests of American workers, American jobs, and American sovereignty first,” said Pence.

“I have to tell you,” he continued, “having been in Florida today at the Kennedy Space Center, talking with folks down there, the enthusiasm for seeing the kind of leadership that President Trump is demonstrating at home and abroad … is invigorating the American spirit all across this country.”
