Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said former FBI Director James Comey will “insinuate” many negative things about President Donald Trump — without actually “accusing” him of anything — during his highly-anticipated testimony Thursday.

O’Reilly, speaking Thursday as Comey’s testimony began, during an interview on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” noted the mainstream media and the Left have been eagerly anticipating any statements from the fired FBI director they could use to push anti-Trump narratives.

“You know what this is all about, and so do most of the American people. It’s another get-Trump play that unfortunately the president has aided,” O’Reilly said. “I don’t think [Comey’s] going to accuse as much as insinuate. So that’s what we’re looking for.”

O’Reilly was ousted from Fox News in April after a concerted campaign by left-aligned groups to pressure advertisers to leave his show over sexual harassment claims. He ripped the progressive Left for waging a war against conservative television and radio hosts.

“They tried to do the same thing to [Fox News host] Sean Hannity a couple weeks ago. I think people understand the viciousness and the dishonesty of it,” O’Reilly said, noting that “there will be litigation coming against the far-left progressives who put this together.”

“[The people will] understand it a lot better when we make our presentation,” O’Reilly insisted.

“The problem here is the changing world. And Fox News is changing. And I’m not going to say anything bad about them. I think there’s a tremendous amount of talent there. I think that they are very necessary for the United States,” O’Reilly added. “But when you change, you know, and you uproot something that’s been very successful, people, you know — it’s a tough process.”

At the time of his firing, O’Reilly was hosting the number-one-rated prime-time cable television show in the country, “The O’Reilly Factor.”

“On Tuesday night, MSNBC crushed Fox News. That never happened. Ever. And they weren’t even close when we were in the chair,” O’Reilly lamented. “So, you know, I’m looking at it and I’m going, ‘There’s something really happening here.’ And unfortunately I got hammered and caught up in a situation way beyond my control.”

“So it did not end well with Fox News. I’m very, very sad about that. I was there for 20 years and seven months,” O’Reilly added. “It was a business decision by the people who run 21st Century, and that’s that. That’s the reality of the situation.”

Noting that he has made” billions” for Fox News over his two decades there, O’Reilly pointed to a recent Forbes article claiming that the company has lost “a billion dollars since I left on the stock price.”

“I was treated well up until the last month or so by 21st Century. I didn’t have any beef with them. I did my job, I worked hard, we were successful, they were a good partner,” O’Reilly said. “And still, to this day, they have excellent talent over at Fox News.”

O’Reilly also commented on his former Fox News colleague, Megyn Kelly, and her NBC News debut Sunday with her exclusive interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I’ve been in the journalism business for 42 years. Forty-two years. I’ve traveled to 85 countries. I’ve covered four wars. I know what I’m doing. I’ve interviewed the biggest people in the world and I know how to do it,” O’Reilly said. “I watched the Megyn Kelly/Putin interview on Sunday. And she didn’t get anything out of it because she didn’t anticipate what he was going to say and then go a different route to shake him. You’ve got to shake Putin, and you can. He’s shakeable.”
