Secretary of Labor Tom Perez, rumored to be Hillary Clinton’s leading pick for attorney general, joked about a kidnapping victim while speaking at a Clinton campaign rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tuesday.

In the video, Perez makes a joke about an Amber Alert — the alert system used for missing children.

While speaking to a crowd of young adults, a loud chorus of smartphone tones — the kind that can indicate an Amber Alert — can be heard briefly as he speaks.

“Well, Amber is going to vote for Hillary! I spoke to her the other day,” Perez jokes.

The Amber Alert was canceled Tuesday night after a 2-month-old boy who had been reported missing was found in Randolph County, North Carolina, according to WXII-News 12.

The video was posted to NTK Networks’ YouTube page on Wednesday.

Perez is a former president of the Montgomery County Council in Maryland. He later worked for the civil rights division in the Justice Department before being nominated to the post of labor secretary by President Obama in March 2013.
