Laura Ingraham soared over her cable-news competition last week, beating MSNBC and CNN every day in total viewers.

It was a crucial first week for “The Ingraham Angle,” which premiered on October 30, and final numbers released on Monday show Ingraham, the founder of LifeZette, delivered for Fox News in her new 10 p.m. slot.

Ingraham easily beat her MSNBC and CNN competition, according to final weekly numbers from Nielsen Media Research.

The Ingraham Angle” averaged 2.72 million viewers. Of those, 529,000 were between the ages 25 and 54, a key demographic desired by advertisers.

“The Last Word” on MSNBC, hosted by Lawrence O’Donnell, averaged 2.25 million viewers, with 501,000 between the ages of 25 and 54. CNN’s “CNN Tonight,” with Don Lemon, averaged 1 million viewers, with 382,000 between 25 and 54.

Ingraham, the founding editor of LifeZette, only came in second to O’Donnell once in the demographic of viewers between the ages of 25 and 54 — on Wednesday, during Game Seven of the World Series. She led that night in total viewers.

But beyond Wednesday, MSNBC came up short every other day in that targeted age range.

To boost her premiere week, Ingraham scored some major guests, some of whom shy away from one-on-one interviews with journalists. On Wednesday, she interviewed Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. On Friday, Ingraham got an interview with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer. On Thursday, she interviewed President Donald Trump.

But for her big October 30 premiere, Ingraham interviewed John Kelly, the White House chief of staff. Kelly is reluctant to speak to the press. Her interview drew 3.27 million viewers and made big waves across international media.

Fox News crowed about the success of “The Ingraham Angle” in an email blast to media, claiming Ingraham “crushed” O’Donnell and Lemon.

For Ingraham, it was a successful kickoff to a show for which Fox News has high hopes. Ingraham has been a contributor to Fox News since 2007. She is also the most listened-to female political talk-radio show host in the United States.

She founded LifeZette in 2015, and her books have often made The New York Times Best Sellers list. Her latest book, “Billionaire at the Barricades: The Populist Revolution from Reagan to Trump,” was released by St. Martin’s Press last month.
