LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham urged President Donald Trump’s administration to “flip” the Russia-driven narrative pushed by the Left and the mainstream media and return focus to the president’s agenda, during an interview Tuesday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

Ingraham addressed rumors of an impending White House shakeup, as well as reports that White House press secretary Sean Spicer had reached out to her regarding the press secretary role. Spicer’s own role in the White House reportedly will be shifting to include fewer on-screen press briefings.

If she took the job, Ingraham said she would focus her efforts on putting focus on the president’s agenda and efforts to deliver for the American people.

“What we’ve seen over the last few months is there’s about a 90 percent focus on Russia, Russia, Russia, [special counsel Robert] Mueller, [former FBI Director James] Comey — and 10 percent on policy and the agenda and economic renewal, and the threats we face and how we’re addressing them,” Ingraham said. “I would flip that narrative. I think 90 percent of this focus should be on the agenda.”

While the liberal-driven media continue relentlessly to push the thus far unsubstantiated theory that Trump and his officials may have colluded with Russians to interfere in the 2016 election, she argued the White House needs to drive focus to Trump’s platform.

“I would really focus on the issues that got President Trump elected. Let the lawyers do their job in dealing with Mueller and his merry band of prosecutors, but I think there’s a lot of good stuff happening,” Ingraham said. “There’s a lot of great stuff that came out of that foreign trip. And he, the president, needs to remember the reason he got elected — to shake up Washington.”

“Washington doesn’t want to be shaken. They want to keep the same tone and the same benefits and the same approach that they’ve been having for decades now. They don’t want that to change,” she added. “He’s a disrupter, and the swamp will try to eat him alive.”

“They should not go home to fundraisers and picnics in August if they can’t get their rear ends in gear and deliver for the American people.”

But Trump has faced an onslaught of obstruction as congressional Democrats resist and stall nearly every legislative proposal put forward while delaying the confirmation of Trump’s administration and cabinet nominees.

“You have to hand it to the Democrats. They have just one speed, and it’s attack, attack, attack, attack. Meanwhile, Republicans are attacking each other,” Ingraham said. “They really have one speed, and it’s move forward and lacerate your opponents … They’re resisting everything and they’re resisting everything the president does. The question is, what is Congress going to do?”

While the Democrats are “resisting” everything nearly Trump and the Republicans propose, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senate Republicans are struggling to come up with the votes necessary to vote on health care reform before their August recess.

“The Republicans have got to pass legislation that’s going to make the lives of everyday Americans better,” Ingraham said. “If they do not, they should leave office. They should not be in Washington because apparently they’re either too afraid or they want to resist Trump themselves.”

“But they should not go home to fundraisers and picnics in August if they can’t get their rear ends in gear and deliver for the American people,” she added. “And I hope President Trump — I assume President Trump — is delivering that message to them. ‘How many votes do you need, Mitch? How many votes do you have? What can you pass with those votes? Let’s pass it.’ That’s what should happen.” (go to page 2 to continue reading)[lz_pagination]
