Some Establishment Republicans are harder on Donald Trump than they ever were on President Obama, LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham said Thursday on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

“That is what threatens these guys.”

Ingraham said Trump poses “an existential threat to their agendas” on critical issues like trade and immigration, and if he wins in November it will kick-start a “re-orientation of the Republican Party away from Bushism and toward a more populist view of policy.”

“That is what threatens these guys,” Ingraham said.

Ingraham noted the rise of Trump has already exerted pressure on the priorities of Establishment figures like House Speaker Paul Ryan.

“I mean, Paul Ryan is a guy who thinks most of these trade deals are good deals and I know he’s kind of reexamining TPP but that’s only because of the rise of Donald Trump,” Ingraham said.

Hannity noted Clinton was receiving her own lackluster support from leading figures in her party, saying President Obama’s endorsement announcement looked more like a “hostage” video.

“I mean, [Obama’s] really excited when he has those Hollywood celebrities come in and do those concerts, like Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder,” Ingraham said.

“Obama’s excited about that, but Sean, he didn’t seem all that thrilled” to be backing the former secretary of state, who has been “kind of trashing” the economic recovery under the Obama administration in interviews this week.

“[Hillary’s] saying, ‘Well, I’m gong to help all these people who are underserved in this economy in Appalachia and Baltimore and Chicago.’ She ticked off all these places that apparently have no jobs and are not getting any of the so-called recovery,” Ingraham said.

“And so that’s kind of an implicit indictment of the Obama record — so he’s probably not all that happy about that either.”
