LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham called out the Clintons for getting rich at the expense of the American people during a Tuesday interview on “Fox & Friends.”

Ingraham questioned the Clintons’ ethics in making tens of thousands of dollars per speech. An investigation conducted by The Associated Press found that Hillary Clinton earned, on average, about $225,000 for each speech she gave following her tenure as secretary of state — speeches for which Clinton has declined to release all the transcripts. Clinton made approximately $22 million for those speeches.

“How, over the last couple of decades with all their time in public service, did the Clintons get so rich when so many in America were getting so poor?” Ingraham asked. “How did it happen? Like, just giving speeches you get a hundred twenty million dollars? What? I mean, you know, this is — this stinks to high heaven. It’s beyond obvious for anyone who wants to be fair.”

The Clintons have made millions for speeches and become the custodians of millions more pumped into the Clinton Foundation through international influence-peddling.

Hillary’s claim to have been “dead broke” when they left the White House highlights the out-of-touch attitude of the Clintons, in light of the vast wealth the pair have accumulated through their career in public service.

In 2014, she stated, “Well, if you — you have no reason to remember, but we came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. We had no money when we got there and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea’s education, you know, it was not easy,” Clinton told Diane Sawyer. “Bill has worked really hard and it’s been amazing to me. He’s worked very hard, first of all, we had to pay off all our debts which was, you know, we had to make double the money because of obviously taxes … and get us houses and take care of family members.”

Ingraham explained that the deep concern Americans have about the Clinton cash machine transcends partisan politics.

“And it shouldn’t be Republican or Democrat. This is about the public trust and whether we can trust public officials to work on our behalf, or is it just going to be always for what’s good for the Clintons?” Ingraham concluded. “It’s always been what’s good for the Clintons. Always.”
