LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham has been confirmed to speak at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday July 20. Ingraham will speak at the start of the convention proceedings that evening.

Ingraham’s selection is yet another nod from the Republican National Committee to the millions of people who supported Trump’s candidacy, and an indication that the party is taking grassroots concerns about immigration and trade seriously.

“They don’t listen on trade, on immigration, and even on this issue of limiting people.”

Considered a thought leader within the Sen. Jeff Sessions wing of the Republican Party, Ingraham has long been sounding the alarm as the GOP Establishment drifted further and further away from the people — particularly on the issues of trade and immigration.

“All the brainiacs over at the RNC, all the brainiacs like Reince Priebus, God bless them but they’ve, they all thought they were going to be so clever and tamping down a populist surge,” Ingraham said in December 2015.

“They don’t listen on trade, on immigration, and even on this issue of limiting people coming into the country. They decide — OK, let’s just demonize Trump, let’s demonize Trump and then we’ll demonize the whole populist movement,” she continued.

Priebus has since come around on Trump, and helped quash an ill-fated revolt from NeverTrumpers at the RNC Rules Committee meetings this week in Cleveland — ahead of the convention.

Other major figures reportedly speaking during the Wednesday session of the convention include: Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, former space shuttle commander Eileen Collins, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Eric Trump, professional golfer Natalie Gulbis, and Trump vice presidential pick Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

In addition to being LifeZette’s editor-in-chief, Ingraham is the host of a nationally syndicated radio show and a Fox News contributor.
