Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee warned that the “elitism, the snobbery of the ruling class” risks a revolt — and not just a metaphorical one.

Huckabee, who appeared Wednesday on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” referred to reports that Republican Party insiders are searching for ways to snatch the nomination from Trump even if he secures enough delegates.

“The whole point of America is we select our leaders by an election, and we do it with ballots, not bullets,” he said. “And we ought to be glad that we’re doing it by ballots, because I’m convinced that if something doesn’t change dramatically in this country, we may see a revolution. But not one with ballots, but one with bullets.”

He said he is “tired of watching these bedwetting Republican Establishment types get all upset because Donald Trump is winning.”

The Establishment’s failed policies, Huckabee said, created Donald Trump. Elites’ reaction to Trump proves they care more about their position than they do about American workers. He referenced the recent decision by an air conditioner manufacturer to shutter an Indiana plant in favor of a move to Mexico.

“It tells us that these guys are only interested in protecting their own nests,” he said. “Did they care about those 1,400 workers at Carrier in Indianapolis who lost their jobs? Did they weep one tear over that? No.”

Buchanan agreed.

“If we get the Establishment again, they’re gonna try to reimpose the old policies that are transparent failures, that have been rejected,” he said. “I don’t understand it … The Establishment will go right back to ’em, because that’s what they believe.”

Huckabee rejected the purported electability concerns that Trump critics routinely voice.

“They’re not so afraid that Trump will lose,” he said. “They’re scared that he might win.”

If you thought the last couple of weeks of the Republican nomination battle have been particularly nasty, you ain’t seen nothing yet, conservative commentator Pat Buchanan said Wednesday.

Buchanan said on “The Laura Ingraham Show” that Sen. Marco Rubio and his Establishment backers likely will take encouragement form the results in the Virginia primary, where a barrage of anti-Donald Trump attack ads seemed to dent the real estate tycoon. Rubio did not win but finished a strong second.

“He did close the gap here in Virginia, and I think that’s the playbook for the next two weeks in Michigan and in Ohio and in Florida,” Buchanan said. “The Establishment is not going quietly.”

As a result, Buchanan said, Trump should hold off on trying to unite the party.

“It’s too early to go the magnanimous route … (The Establishment) is going all out to tear him down with the expectation that whoever is standing beside him will be standing if Trump goes down. So I think his strategy ought to be, he ought to act like look, this is a real battle to win, like he’s in the Iowa-New Hampshire race still … It’s too early to start coasting.”
