The FBI arrested Noor Salman, wife of Orlando shooter and Islamic terrorist Omar Mateen, on Monday.

Federal agents took Salman into custody on charges of obstruction at her home near San Francisco.

Following the Islamic terror attack in Orlando, Salman was questioned by FBI agents for hours, during which some came to believe she was lying to them about her knowledge of the attack, The New York Times reported in November.

Salman’s arrest on Monday for obstruction suggests those suspicions were not entirely unfounded.

Salman’s parents — Muslims from the West Bank — immigrated to the United States in 1985. “I was unaware of everything,” she claimed in an interview with The New York Times following the attack.

However, when initially questioned by authorities following the attack, it was revealed that Salman accompanied Mateen to scout the nightclub and was with him when he purchased ammunition.

If Salman is proven to have had prior knowledge of the attack — or even to have been a willing accomplice — she will be just the latest in a long list of immigrants or children of immigrants to have been involved in recent Islamic terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.

Mateen himself was born in New York to Afghan parents. Arcan Cetin, the Washington state mall shooter, was born in Turkey. The Minnesota mall attacker Dahir Adan was a 22-year-old, Kenyan-born Somali immigrant, while the terrorist who planted bombs in New York and New Jersey — Ahmad Khan Rahami — was born in Afghanistan.

Sayed Rizwan Farook, one of the perpetrators of the San Bernardino shooting, was the child of Pakistani migrants. His accomplice, Tashfeen Malik, was herself a Pakistani migrant.

The Tsarnaev brothers who perpetrated the Boston Marathon bombing were born in Kyrgyzstan to a Chechen migrant, while the perpetrator of the Chattanooga shootings in July 2015 was Kuwaiti-born Palestinian Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. The 2009 Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Hassan, was born to Palestinian parents.

Salman is scheduled to appear in federal court on Tuesday.
