It’s always fun to check out what the loons are saying in Hillaryville. Her boosters on the far Left didn’t want her to backtrack at all on her comment that half of Donald Trump’s supporters belong in a “basket of deplorables.”

“Do Half of Trump’s Supporters Really Belong in a ‘Basket of Deplorables’?” asked a headline from Slate on Sunday, before answering the question with an emphatic: “Yes.”

Democratic strategist Stephanie Cutter suggested on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Clinton’s only mistake was impugning just half of Trump’s supporters.

“I think that her only mistake is that she said half of his supporters were deplorable,” Cutter told host Chuck Todd. “He is attracting a certain type of voter … and they tweet racist things, he retweets them, he says it from the stump. So what she said was not wrong. Her only mistake was that she described half of his supporters that way,” said the former deputy campaign manager for President Obama’s 2012 re-elect.

The Left should really get pressed on this. How can their candidate look out for the best interests of a country when you believe that so many people in the country are evil? How can you claim to support democracy when you believe that so many voters are unfit to govern? Do these facts explain why you are always trying to give away U.S. sovereignty? Do they explain why you have long supported giving more power to judges and other unelected officials?

Even the respected but liberal Washington Post’s David Ignatius validated Mrs. Clinton’s insult. “The numbers show that there is a nativist, xenophobic strain amongst Trump supporters,” he told the anti-Trump set on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” Ignatius is obviously not aware of the recent Gallup poll showing that 76 percent of Americans support either lowering immigration levels or keeping them the same. Only 21 percent want immigration levels increased.

As for admitting Syrian refugees (99 percent of which have been Muslim), the Chicago Council on Global Affairs poll reports only 36 percent support accepting them into the U.S. That’s a lot of xenophobes and nativists.
