Donald Trump reiterated his call for a “temporary ban” on Muslim migrants to the United States from “horrible” places with “tremendous terrorism” during a campaign rally in Atlanta, Georgia Wednesday.

“If we don’t solve [radical Islamic terrorism], it’s going to eat our country alive.”

“If we don’t solve [radical Islamic terrorism], it’s going to eat our country alive,” Trump said.

Trump criticized President Obama for pandering to the PC police, refusing to use the term “Radical Islam” in his statements following and leading up to the Orlando, Florida shooting that left more than 100 people dead or injured.

“We have a president who wants to be so politically correct that he doesn’t want to use the term radical Islamic terrorism,” Trump said, noting Obama calls it “radical Islam” because he thinks it “doesn’t make any difference.”

“It makes a difference and it makes a big difference because unless you are willing to discuss and talk about the real nature of the problem and the name of the problem, radical islamic terrorism, you’re never going to solve the problem.”

He said American leaders can choose to be “weak” or “ineffective like we are right now,”  or can pivot to something better.

“We have to be the smart country now, we’ve been the dummies for too long,” Trump said, adding later that “our leaders have to get a lot tougher.”

Trump said there’s no cap on spending when it comes to national security. He suggested German government leaders would have “spent billions” on safe zones in Syria if they knew it could have deterred the attacks and mass sexual assaults by Syrian asylum-seekers on German citizens.

“Anything’s cheaper and anything’s better than what’s going on now in Germany and other countries,” Trump said.

House Oversight Committee Chair Jason Chaffetz defended Donald Trump from criticism over his tough rhetoric on President Obama’s terrorism record this morning. Chaffetz agreed the president has been more preoccupied with attacking Republicans than with combating radical terrorism.

“And I do think Mr. Trump made a very good point yesterday when you want to see the president fired up, it’s when he’s talking about Republicans,” he said on Fox News this morning. “It’s not when he’s going out and talking about defeating ISIS and protecting the United States of America. You don’t see that … fire in the belly. You see it when he wants to talk about Donald Trump.”

Trump acknowledged that Republicans need do stick together right now. He said that though he’s still going to “run as a Republican,” he’s willing to do whatever it takes to fight for his policies regardless of whether anyone in Washington has his back.

“I’ll just have to do it by myself,” Trump said.
