Secret Service members rushed Donald Trump off the stage after a disturbance broke out during a rally Saturday evening in Reno, Nevada.

The GOP nominee was whisked off the stage over 30 minutes into his speech at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. A statement from the U.S. Secret Service indicated the incident was sparked by someone in the crowd yelling “gun.”

“Immediately in front of the stage, an unidentified individual shouted ‘gun,'” a statement issued by the Secret Service said, “Secret Service agents and Reno Police Officers immediately apprehended the subject.”

“Upon a thorough search of the subject and the surrounding area, no weapon was found,” the statement continued.

Just several minutes after being rushed away, Trump returned to the stage and thanked the Secret Service members for their hard work and their competence.

“Nobody said it was going to be easy for us, but we will never be stopped,” Trump said after retaking the stage. “Never, ever.”

“I want to thank the Secret Service. These guys are fantastic. They don’t get enough credit,” Trump added. “They don’t get enough credit. They’re amazing people.”

In an official statement shortly after the incident Trump thanked the Secret Service again and reaffirmed his initial message of defiance.

Law enforcement quickly took down and removed from the scene a suspect believed to have been involved.
