A Connecticut woman tried to run over a cop and later told police that President Donald Trump made her do it.

Eileen Marie Pierce, 58, of Garden Lane told police she is mad at Trump.

According to the Hartford Courant, the Harwinton, Connecticut, woman intentionally tried to run over an officer on Thursday because she was mad at police and also angry that Donald Trump is president, state police said.

According to Fox 61, a state trooper was directing traffic for a tree-trimming crew on Route 69 in Burlington, Connecticut, just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

A dark-colored Subaru wagon heading south intentionally veered into the northbound lane and toward the trooper. The trooper was able to dodge the Subaru, Fox 61 reported.

Police chased her and stopped her on the Burlington-Bristol line in Connecticut.

The Courant reports Pierce was charged with criminal attempt at first-degree assault, attempted assault on a police officer and reckless driving.

Judge Richard Dyer ordered Pierce held on a $150,000 bond after a court appearance on Friday.

Her lawyer said Pierce has not been taking her medication.
