The money just keeps rolling in for the Clintons, despite Hillary Clinton’s claim that she and her husband were “dead broke” when they left the White House.

Hillary recently filed her personal financial disclosure for 2015, which revealed that she earned roughly $1.5 million in speaking fees last year, while her husband earned $4.6 million from paid speeches.

These paid speeches have certainly earned the ire of Republicans and Democrats alike, who see it as a major conflict of interest. There has been pressure by those on the left for Hillary to release the transcripts of her paid speeches to firms with ties to Wall Street, but she has adamantly refused.

As if Wall Street speeches weren’t enough, a majority of the companies and organizations that paid for Hillary to speak had government ties. A review conducted by The Associated Press found that more than one-third of Hillary’s paid speeches between 2013 and 2015 were to government contractors or groups that directly lobbied federal agencies — more than likely hoping to get their interests protected if she is elected to the presidency. Furthermore, the review also found that 22 of the groups lobbied the State Department while Hillary served as secretary of state.

If her time as secretary of state is any indication, the speeches won’t stop if she’s president. The “pay to play” allegations are ramping up after the book “Clinton Cash” and other investigations into the Clinton Foundation’s financial dealings tying them to shady transactions.

“A major foreign donor wants something from Hillary Clinton’s State Department, [so] they funnel tens of millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation and hire Bill Clinton to deliver a speech and pay an exorbitant speaking fee, and — voila! — Hillary’s State Department enacts policies that favor the foreign donor,” said Peter Schweizer, author of “Clinton Cash.”

Since 2001, the Clintons have earned over $153 million in speaking fees. A CNN analysis shows that between February 2001 and May 2015, the pair gave 729 speeches, averaging $210,795 per gig. Throughout the primary, Hillary has denied that she has ever changed a view or vote because of a donation she has received — yeah, right!

Her paid speeches are definitely fair game, since it’s within the realm of possibility that she could make decisions or take action as president that could be in the interest of those who paid her hefty speaking fees.

What’s more, she earned $5 million in royalties for her book “Hard Choices” — hardly making her “dead broke.”
