Peter Schweizer, the author of The New York Times bestseller “Clinton Cash,” is set to debut an hour-long documentary based on his explosive book at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday. The film will hit the big screen in the United States on July 24, just days before the Democratic National Convention — inconvenient timing for Hillary Clinton.

“We’ve been told FBI agents investigating Hillary Clinton are required to read ‘Clinton Cash’ as a backgrounder.” — Peter Schweizer

What’s more, just before the “Clinton Cash” documentary hit the screens, more news broke of the Clinton Foundation’s shady dealings. The Clinton Global Initiative, an initiative of the Clinton Foundation, was found to have given $2 million to Energy Pioneer Solutions, a for-profit company headed up by friends and political allies of the Clintons. This transaction may have the Clintons in hot water with the feds, since tax-exempt charitable organizations aren’t supposed to act in private interest.

But that’s not all. An investigation conducted by The Daily Caller found that the Clintons received at least $100 million from Persian Gulf states and their leaders — raising more eyebrows regarding “pay to play” allegations.

While the Clinton campaign has condemned the book and documentary as a “smear campaign” concocted by the right-wing conspiracy, various mainstream media outlets have conducted their own investigations, which led to the verification of most of Schweizer’s findings. The book and film are meant to shine a spotlight on just how the Clinton Foundation has allowed for foreign leaders and countries to buy influence.

LifeZette caught up with Schweizer to get exclusive insight into the new documentary and how it will affect Clinton’s chances at the presidency.

Question: With the premiere of the “Clinton Cash” documentary on Monday, what do you think the impact will be on Clinton’s candidacy and the 2016 race?

Answer: Well, I’ve never been good at political predictions — I leave those to the experts. But there’s no question that “Clinton Cash’s” investigative findings have been confirmed by the investigative units at several mainstream media outlets, including The New York Times, [The] Washington Post, the New Yorker, ABC News, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, MSNBC, FOX News, and several others. So to the degree that beat reporters actually ask Hillary questions germane to the book’s findings, it’s going to cause major problems for her.

Q: With new reports from The Wall Street Journal about the Clinton Foundation taking in $2 million, then giving it to friends, what are your thoughts?

A: It’s just one more of a myriad of examples of something I dubbed the “Clinton blur.” “Clinton Cash” showcases dozens of similar instances. A major foreign donor wants something from Hillary Clinton’s State Department. They funnel tens of millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation and hire Bill Clinton to deliver a speech and pay an exorbitant speaking fee, and — voila! — Hillary’s State Department enacts policies that favor the foreign donor. Over and over the pattern played out. Case in point: Of the 13 speeches Bill Clinton delivered from 2000 to 2012 that fetched over $500,000, only two occurred when Hillary wasn’t secretary of state.

Q: Are Clinton’s shady dealings finally catching up to her?

Who do you think would win the Presidency?

A: Yes, but the public’s awareness of it will reach critical mass in the months ahead. There’s been a virtual blackout by top reporters asking Hillary any questions about “Clinton Cash.” The only question she received on her transfer of 20 percent of U.S. uranium to Putin’s Russia as nine investors in the deal funneled $145 million to the Clinton Foundation was asked by a local reporter, and she brushed off the question. But that will soon change. We’ve been told FBI agents investigating Hillary Clinton are required to read “Clinton Cash” as a backgrounder.

Q: What do you think has been the shadiest transaction by the Clintons?

A: There are so many, but Hillary’s transfer of 20 percent of all American uranium — the stuff used to build nuclear weapons — to Putin’s Russia is hard to beat. Remember: Hillary was the point person for the so-called “Russian Reset.” When I uncovered that nine Clinton Foundation investors poured $145 million into Hillary’s foundation — as Hillary greenlit the deal from her perch at the State Department — I gave my findings to the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative unit at The New York Times. Not only did The Times confirm “Clinton Cash’s” findings, they featured a 4,000 word story on it on their front page. Bottom line: It’s not just conservatives who are alarmed by Hillary and Bill’s global auctioning of American power.

Q: Any exclusives on the documentary you can give us? Is there anything new in the documentary that wasn’t in the book?

A: I’m en route to Cannes for the screening right now, but I will say that the documentary brings the book’s findings into high-definition relief and provides additional context to my original reporting. That’s the power of film: Images and video can do things the printed page cannot.
