The CIA analyst who resigned in protest of President Donald Trump donated thousands of dollars to Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign in 2016, according to campaign finance reports.

Edward Price argued in a Washington Post op-ed published Monday that he could not serve the administration in “good faith” and that his resignation “had nothing to do with politics,” but instead came from Trump’s “disturbing actions.”

“If this administration is serious about building trust with the intelligence community … it will require more than rallies at CIA headquarters or press statements,” Price added.

“Trump’s actions in office have been even more disturbing,” Price wrote. “His visit to CIA headquarters on his first full day in office, an overture designed to repair relations, was undone by his ego and bluster.”

Price’s article — entitled, “I didn’t think I’d ever leave the CIA. But because of Trump, I quit” — failed to make any mention of his personal donations to Trump’s opponent in the presidential election.

According to FEC records, Price donated $2,700 to “Hillary for America” on August 21, 2016. On that same day, he donated an additional $2,300 to the Democratic National Committee’s “Hillary Victory Fund.”

Also unmentioned from Price, or in his tagline from The Washington Post, is that he is a registered Democrat in the District of Columbia, as reported by The Washington Free Beacon.

Price also reportedly worked closely with Obama’s deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes during the administration’s nuclear negotiations with Iran. Rhodes later bragged he and his team created an “echo chamber” to intentionally mislead the American people about the true nature of the deal.

When Iran captured and held American sailors on the same day that Obama was set to give his State of the Union address in 2016, it was Price who was ordered by Rhodes to immediately begin spinning the administration’s “well-cultivated network of officials,” according to David Samuels of The New York Times.

“As intelligence professionals, we’re taught to tune out politics. The river separating CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., from Washington might as well be a political moat. But this administration has flipped that dynamic on its head: The politicians are the ones tuning out the intelligence professionals,” Price wrote.

Price also parroted Democratic talking points about Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon and his role on the National Security Council in his explanation of his resignation.

“The final straw came late last month, when the White House issued a directive reorganizing the National Security Council, on whose staff I served from 2014 until earlier this year,” Price wrote. “Missing from the NSC’s principals committee were the CIA director and the director of national intelligence. Added to the roster: the president’s chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, who cut his teeth as a media champion of white nationalism.”
