Hillary Clinton has won the swing-state of Nevada.

The AP called the state for Clinton, with 35 percent of precincts having reported results. At the time, Clinton had 49 percent of the vote, while Donald Trump took 45 percent.

Nevada was a key battleground state throughout the election, and of clear importance to the Democrats. Clinton campaigned heavily in the state during the run-up to the election, with Vice President Joe Biden, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Katy Perry, Steve Aoki, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and President Obama all making appearing there on behalf of her campaign.

While initial polls taken throughout the summer suggested a race too close to call, alternating between Trump and Clinton leads of one to six points, much like in Michigan, polls taken throughout October suggested a Clinton win.

But also much like in Michigan, polls had begun to close by the beginning of November. Three of the final six polls taken in the state RealClear Politics had Trump in the lead, and one was a tie. On the eve of the election the RealClear aggregate put Trump ahead by 1.5 points.

Unfortunately for Trump, Clinton’s reliance on celebrity star power in Nevada seems to have actually paid off for Clinton.
