Four police officers have been shot in four separate cities in the last 24 hours — and at least two of those shootings appear to have been intentional ambushes, authorities report.

Benjamin Marconi, a detective in San Antonio, Texas, was shot to death on Sunday while writing a traffic ticket in his squad car. It was parked in front of police headquarters. A driver in another vehicle pulled up behind to the unsuspecting officer and opened fire.

“Unfortunately, like Dallas, like Baton Rouge, it’s happened here.”

A police sergeant in St. Louis, Missouri was hospitalized after being shot twice in the face Sunday night during an ambush. The suspect was killed early Monday during a shootout with police.

“This officer was driving down the road and was ambushed by an individual who pointed a gun at him from inside of his car and shot out the police officer’s window,” said St. Louis police chief Sam Dotson.

Also in Missouri, a Gladstone Police Department officer was shot near Kansas City while trying to take a suspect into custody for a traffic violation, and in Sanibel, Florida, an officer was shot during a routine traffic stop.

These brave officers are just the latest casualties in the Left’s ideological crusade against law enforcement, fueled by Black Lives Matter’s divisive racial rhetoric. “Unfortunately, like Dallas, like Baton Rouge, it’s happened here,” said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus. “It’s always difficult, especially in this day and age where police are being targeted across the county,” he added.

The San Antonio detective murdered on Sunday is at least the 13th law enforcement officer to be murdered in an ambush-style attack since 2014.

Earlier this month, two police officers in Des Moines, Iowa, were killed in separate ambush-style attacks while parked in their patrol cars. In July, six officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were shot by radical black separatist Gavin Eugene Long — three of the officers died.

Also in July, radical black nationalist and Black Lives Matter supporter Micah Xavier Johnson ambushed police officers in Dallas, Texas, during a Black Lives Matter protest. Nine officers were injured and five were murdered.

In 2014, two police officers in Brooklyn, New York, were shot in an ambush by 28-year old Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, who claimed his attack was revenge for the shooting of Michael Brown.

Perhaps even more disturbing than this epidemic of anti-police violence is President Obama’s apparent indifference to it. Obama has made no public appearance nor issued any statement in response to the horrific attacks on our nation’s finest — despite the fact that it has been nearly 24 hours since Detective Marconi was assassinated.
